Do you know Vivienne Scott, the energetic, industrious, humble and talented lady from

Canada? Vivienne has make great stride in her career as an event director, writer, instructress,

choreographer and  judge in choreography competitions. Most of all, she helps, in one way or another,

to elevate the international status of line dancing to what it is today, be it writing about other line

dance personalities or promoting choreographies from Canada.

Vivienne was voted Female Instructor of the Yearat the 2006 Dancers Choice Awards at the

Vegas Dance Explosion and nominated again in 2007. She has taught at line dance events all over the

world including across Canada, the UK, the US, France, Australia, Japan and Argentina. She is also a

choreographer and has written and co-written over 75 dances, 25 of which have been published in line

dance magazines. They include 'No Tricks', 'Ami Oh', 'Hands on my Heart', 'Dr. Flame', 'Let's Chill',

'Coco Loco', 'Latin Crazy', 'From Latin With Love', and most recently 'Open Hearts' and 'Zee Zee'. Her

dance, 'Clap Your Hands' was nominated for 'Beginner Dance of the Year' at the 2005 Dancers' Choice

Awards at the Vegas Dance Explosion. For five years, Vivienne was one of the judges of the

choreography competition (from beginner to advanced levels) at that event and choreographed some

 of the evening shows routines.

Vivienne is also an Event Director with her own events in Toronto; Let The Good Times Roll

(in its 12th year of featuring Canadian & US Instructors) and ‘The Spring Workshop (in its 8th year of

presenting well known international Choreographers). She has also recently taken on the role of

Event Director for ' Celebrate Dance', a large international weekend line dance event, also held in

Toronto, and is enjoying that challenge.

She has her own website Stay-In-ine (www.stayinline.ca) on which, aside from her own dance

information, she writes reports on dance events and has compiled an extensive list of Line Dance

classes across Canada. She also set up and manages a Facebook page for Canadian LD

choreographers -- 'LD Canada'.

In addition, Vivienne is also a writer.  For many years she wrote articles for The Beatin NZ and

was nominated for Article of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2009 and for 'International Column of the

Year' from 2007 to 2013. She has her own monthly feature in The Linedancer magazine as well -

spotlighting up and coming choreographers.  She also regularly writes articles for the magazine and records video interviews for OnLinedancer including a recent interview with Jo Thompson Szymanski.

Vivienne feels very fortunate to be part of the line dance community and, as well as the enormous

pleasure of the dancing itself, she considers the greatest benefits she has gained are the friendships

that she cherishes.

Vivienne, keep up with the excellent works. We salute you!
